I agree, the games looks to be quite interesting as both Denmark and France have not been too impressive despite the victories so maybe the underdogs woud have their chances, I think so.

You are right, it's not such a big shock because Spain have not shown much during the group stage. However, Russia have shown even less than that so far, they have beaten a clueless Saudi Arabia, then got quite lucky against Egypt and got whopped when they faced a serious team like Uruguay.

Generally agree Johnny but I think you're a bit harsh to the Russians, they've had a plan today and execute it well, I think they could be dangerous on counters, in fact if the name of their opponent wasn't Spain today they would of played braver and probably win that in regular time, I believe that.
But I agree that they're not good enough otherwise and expecting the quarters to be the end of their trip.

Globalement d'accord Johnny mais je pense que tu es un peu dur avec les Russes, ils ont eu un plan aujourd'hui et l'exécutent bien, je pense qu'ils pourraient être dangereux sur les contres, en fait si le nom de leur adversaire n'était pas l'Espagne aujourd'hui ils auraient joué plus courageusement et gagneraient probablement cela dans le temps réglementaire, je le crois.
Mais je suis d'accord qu'ils ne sont pas assez bons autrement et qu'ils s'attendent à ce que les trimestres soient la fin de leur voyage.

It's become modern these days to talk about positive and negative display Johnny and I'm kind of tend to agree with that (not fully) but when the other team has a squad valued 50x yours I'm also tend to agree with teams playing defensively like the Russians, that 's what gives them a realistic chance of winning games against such opponents like Spain, in open play they would probably concede 3 or 4.
So in the end I think there's could be some entertainment even if a team defend well and playing counter-attacking overall, it's another theme that the Russians didn't done much and just clearing the ball as far as possible from their goal but probably not exactly what their coach told them to do I reckon.

Il est devenu moderne ces jours-ci de parler d'affichage positif et négatif. Johnny et j'ai plutôt tendance à être d'accord avec ça (pas entièrement), mais lorsque l'autre équipe a une équipe évaluée à 50 fois la vôtre, j'ai également tendance à être d'accord avec les équipes qui jouent défensivement. comme les Russes, c'est ce qui leur donne une chance réaliste de gagner des matchs contre des adversaires comme l'Espagne, dans un jeu ouvert, ils en concéderaient probablement 3 ou 4.
Donc en fin de compte, je pense qu'il pourrait y avoir du divertissement même si une équipe défend bien et joue globalement en contre-attaque, c'est un autre thème que les Russes n'ont pas fait grand-chose et ont juste dégagé le ballon le plus loin possible de leur but mais probablement pas. exactement ce que leur entraîneur leur a dit de faire, je pense.

Surely not what the coach told them to do but probably everything that they were in fact able to do. My point is neither of the two teams (Russia and Spain) deserved to be in the top eight in the whole world right now. Luckily for Russia they host the tournament, otherwise they probably wouldn't have qualified anyway, they surely wouldn't have been a top seed in the group stage draw.
