Hiya LCB’ers,
I learned something the other day that all I could say was ……..no wayyy!!! Driving in the car with a friend of mine we go to the drive-thru of McDonalds to get something to drink. We place our drink order when my friend casually says…they must use the call center at this location, because she was super friendly.
Trying to process in my mind what she just said I ask her……call center?? She says yep call center. Ok now im really confused…..what do you mean call center? McDonalds has a call center where customer service takes your order from a central location.
Ok maybe it’s just me and I have been living under a rock. I am blown away. I said ….no wayyyyyyyyy!! All this time when I am thinking that the purpose who takes my order is the same person that takes my cash at the window….isnt it??
Some locations have the “Out Source” order taking and some don’t. That would explain why sometimes the service is good at the window and sometimes I have to repeat my order three times before they get it right.
The woman that took our order was very polite and got it the first time! I pull up to the window to pay and I am looking for what I think was this woman who took my order when a man indeed Is at the window! Still In disbelief I ask him…..where is the woman who took our order? He said oh that’s our Call Center!!
I know…….i know it may seem like it does not take much to get me all excited! Did anyone was else know this or am I the only one.

Ok, c'est peut-être juste moi et je vis sous un rocher. Je suis époustouflé. J'ai dit… pas questionyyyyyyyy !! Pendant tout ce temps, je pense que la personne qui prend ma commande est la même personne qui prend mon argent à la fenêtre… n'est-ce pas ??
Certains emplacements ont la prise de commande « Out Source » et d'autres non. Cela expliquerait pourquoi parfois le service est bon à la fenêtre et parfois je dois répéter ma commande trois fois avant de bien faire les choses.
La femme qui a pris notre commande était très polie et l'a eu du premier coup ! Je m'arrête à la fenêtre pour payer et je cherche ce que je pense être cette femme qui a pris ma commande alors qu'un homme est bel et bien à la fenêtre ! Toujours incrédule, je lui demande… où est la femme qui a pris notre commande ? Il a dit oh, c'est notre centre d'appels !!
Je sais…….je sais qu'il peut sembler qu'il n'en faut pas beaucoup pour m'exciter ! Est-ce que quelqu'un d'autre le savait ou je suis le seul.

Yes its true. I work in a restaurant that orders are placed over the phone, and if the phone rings over 5 times its picked up by a "call center". They may live 100 miles away, but it still works. The order is printed out on a ticket machine that beeps every time one comes through. They get paid $3 for every order they place for our location.

Ils vivent peut-être à 100 miles de chez eux, mais cela fonctionne toujours. La commande est imprimée sur un distributeur de billets qui émet un bip à chaque passage. Ils sont payés 3 $ pour chaque commande passée pour notre site.

Totally wild!! We could be placing an order clear across country! I still don't understand why they do it. To put all that time, effort and money in opening a call center when they can just properly train staff!Totalement sauvage !! Nous pourrions passer une commande dans tout le pays ! Je ne comprends toujours pas pourquoi ils font ça. Consacrer tout ce temps, ces efforts et cet argent à ouvrir un centre d’appels alors qu’ils peuvent simplement former correctement le personnel ! -

Well the only money that is actually spent is whats given to the person that takes the call. Its not actually a "center" such as a place where a bunch of people sit and wait, its done from home, and really cost efficient if you think about spending $3 to make $10 to $100 each call...
Eh bien, le seul argent réellement dépensé est celui qui est remis à la personne qui répond à l’appel. Ce n'est pas vraiment un "centre" comme un endroit où un groupe de gens s'assoient et attendent, c'est fait depuis chez soi, et vraiment rentable si vous pensez dépenser 3 $ pour passer 10 à 100 $ par appel...
